Avengers Assembled

Avengers Assembled

Jul 27

I guess many would agree when I say the main highlight of the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con is the cast announcement for Marvel‘s highly-anticipated Avengers movie.

Fanboys and fangirls all over the world delighted when Nick Fury himself (that’s Samuel L. Jackson, in case you were just born yesterday) introduced the team and was accompanied by Robert Downey Jr a little later.

Man! Robert IS definitely Tony Stark. He doesn’t need to act at all to make you think that. Its always been a challenge for me to separate the actor and the character really. They’re just too much alike, if you know what I mean! Haha!

Anyway, this marks the first time the Avengers cast had their photo taken. Now lets all dream and look forward to the day when we finally see them wear their costumes together.

Robert Downey Jr is Tony Stark/ Iron Man, Clark Gregg is SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson, Scarlett Johansson is Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth is Thor, Chris Evans is Steve Rogers/Captain America, Sam Jackson is Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner is Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo is Bruce Banner/Hulk and Joss Whedon, the Avengers director.

    OMG! Joss Whedon! :D <3 <3 <3

Trust me to fangirl for the writer (though he's the director in this case) and not the gwapo actors hehehe!

Just thought of this now: Does this mean that there will be no more sequels of Fantastic Four since Chris Evans is no longer the Human Torch? Or will he play botoh characters? Wouldn't that be strange?

  2. @Ida, I have a feeling the movie will be in good hands with Joss around. I enjoy watching his interviews. He knows the characters well.

As for FF, I think they’re getting a reboot so we can expect a different cast for that one.

Reboot ng Fantastic Four?! Hmm… Ok. Not really sure how I feel about that. Hehe. But oh well, I guess for some, the best parts of superhero stories are really how they started so ang daming reboot na nangyayari. Oh well.

Re Joss Whedon — He’s one of the biggest geeks ever! Hehehe! And I really really like his stuff, at least, those that I’ve seen — Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Toy Story :D
Other than his imagination though, what I really love about him is his comedy :) So I’m hoping that if they do decide to inject some comedy into this movie, it’ll be really funny, and not childish/lame like in the Transformer movies (ugh, Michael Bay is yucky).

  4. @ Ida, I guess they’re going for a darker take for the FF reboot. I’m not too fond about the idea actually. I’ll miss the original team - especially Jessica Alba! wahaha…

I agree about Michael Bay. Although Id say I enjoyed the first movie, the second one was crap.

Darker take? Like the new Batman franchise? Maybe if Christopher Nolan directs it I’ll be on board, too. Hahaha. But then again, I don’t think I’d like to see a Batman-Begins type of FF.
And though I don’t really like Jessica Alba, I do think that the casting for FF was great. Even for Dr.Doom :)

P.S. I also think they should’ve kept Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, eventhough I think Mark Ruffalo is a great actor.
